AviancaHondurasGuatemala
Honduras and Guatemala are served by Avianca as part of its broader Central America network, though the frequencies are lower than Copa’s. Understanding the limitations helps you plan — or decide that a private charter is more practical.
Avianca’s Honduras coverage
Avianca serves Tegucigalpa (TGU) and San Pedro Sula (SAP) from its Bogotá hub, with connections from Lima and other South American cities. The routes are less frequent than Copa’s (typically 1 daily flight) and require connections at BOG rather than the geographically closer PTY. Bay Islands destinations like Roatán (RTB) and Utila (UII) are simply not reachable on Avianca — requiring either CM Airlines or AeroRide’s private charter from SAP.
Avianca’s Guatemala coverage
Guatemala City (GUA) is served from BOG and SAL, making Avianca a convenient option for travelers combining Guatemala with El Salvador. Flores and Tikal (FRS), however, are beyond Avianca’s network — requiring a TAG Air connection or a private AeroRide charter from GUA, which cuts the 8-hour road trip to Flores down to 55 minutes.
