Seventy nautical miles to the Costa Rican Caribbean. And it is the only point on that coast a real road reaches, which changes the question entirely. From 1,295 USD per aircraft.

The Caribbean exception
The catalogue has spent several blocks saying that on this coast the flight does not compete with a road, it competes with a chain. Corn Island, Tortuguero, Barra del Colorado, Bocas del Toro: no main route reaches any of them.
Limón is the exception. There is paved road from the Central Valley, about three and a half hours depending on the stretch.
That makes this a different case: here there is a certain cost in front of you. With open dates and a small party, the road works.
The flight pays when the schedule cannot carry the risk of the Braulio Carrillo pass, which is the part of the run that closes or backs up with rain and landslides.
The specific aircraft is assigned on confirmation, based on passenger count, baggage and the destination field.
A large field on a coast of small ones
Eighteen hundred metres by thirty wide, and international airport status.
On the Central American Caribbean seaboard that is a rarity. It is the ends criterion the catalogue set out on the Nicaraguan border: one end used to the formalities changes all the advance coordination.
There is no border to cross here, but the consequences are the same: wide operating hours, no aircraft restriction, and departure margin. The specific aircraft is assigned on confirmation, based on passenger count, baggage and the destination field.
What it opens to the south
Limón is the air entry to the southern Caribbean: Cahuita, Puerto Viejo, Manzanillo and Gandoca, along the coast road.
It is also the most practical link with Bocas del Toro, 58.8 nautical miles away — though that one crosses a border and carries its own deadlines.
To the north, Tortuguero is 46.8 nautical miles away and Barra del Colorado 59.0: the two northern Caribbean destinations with no road.
The Caribbean corridor, with a real middle
With Limón, the corridor the catalogue closed in block 38 has a genuine intermediate point:
| Leg | Distance |
|---|---|
| Corn Island – Tortuguero | 99.9 NM |
| Tortuguero – Limón | 46.8 NM |
| Limón – Bocas del Toro | 58.8 NM |
It is the only large field along that whole run, and therefore the only point to refuel, wait or coordinate without friction.
