Every page in this section argues for something. This one lists what operators complain about, including where they are right, because a channel that only publishes its own case is asking to be believed rather than checked.
1. «You send requests my aircraft cannot do»
Fair, and partly deliberate. We match on category and field, not on a performance calculation for that day's load and temperature — a number we do not have.
The alternative would be guessing and silently removing you from jobs you could have done. We chose the version that wastes your time occasionally over the one that costs you work invisibly. The specific aircraft is assigned on confirmation, based on passenger count, baggage and the destination field.
Where it is our fault: when the sheet we hold is out of date. Tell us and it stops.
2. «The volume is lower than I expected»
Fair. Request volume in this market is modest and seasonal, and an operator whose category duplicates what is already available in their region will see very little.
We say this on several pages and it still disappoints people, which suggests we do not say it early enough.
3. «The passenger knows the price before I quote»
True, and we will not change it. We show a "from" price per route; the final fare depends on the date, the group and the baggage, and is confirmed in writing before booking. An enquiry that arrives without a price expectation costs you an afternoon of explaining. The trade is that your pricing freedom is narrower at the top.
4. «I do not get told why I lost a job»
Fair criticism and a real gap. When a passenger chooses another operator we often do not know why either, and reporting a guess would be worse than reporting nothing.
What we can do is tell you when it was timing, because that we can see.
That limitation is worth knowing about any channel. An intermediary who always has a reason for a lost job is constructing one, and a constructed reason sends you optimising the wrong thing.
5. «Short legs are not worth the paperwork»
Agreed. A Quepos hop at 33.4 nautical miles carries the same coordination as a longer job against a smaller contribution.
Tell us not to send them. Operators assume they must take everything to stay eligible; they do not.
The same applies to destinations, group sizes and days of the week. A filter you set is better for both of us than a refusal you send.
6. «The relationship stays with you»
Partly true and worth understanding precisely. The first contact is ours because the passenger found us. What happens afterwards is not restricted — and if any intermediary tells you otherwise, read the clause. The operator is paid the full flight at their usual rate: our intermediation is not deducted from what they charge.
What we have not fixed
The volume expectation problem in complaint 2. We describe the market honestly across these pages and operators still arrive expecting more, which means the description is either not reaching them or not landing.
If you are reading this before signing up: a Tortuguero transfer at 53.4 nautical miles is a real route with real demand, and that demand is measured in jobs per month, not per week. Operators we bring on evidence current certification, insurance and fleet documentation before receiving a first assignment.
Frequently asked questions
Why do I get requests my aircraft cannot do?
We match on category and field, not on a performance calculation we do not have. Guessing would remove you from jobs invisibly.
Is the volume complaint fair?
Yes. Volume is modest and seasonal, and a duplicated category in a region sees very little.
Will you stop showing prices to passengers?
No. An enquiry without a price expectation costs you an afternoon. The trade is narrower pricing freedom at the top.
Why do you not tell me why I lost a job?
Because we often do not know either, and a guess would be worse than nothing. We do report when it was timing.
Must I accept short legs to stay eligible?
No. Tell us not to send them.
Who keeps the client?
The first contact is ours because the passenger found us. What happens afterwards is not restricted.
